Today we will examine the movie Woodlawn.  It is based on a true story that took place in Birmingham, Alabama in 1973. 

After government mandates, schools all across the South were beginning to desegregate, including the mainly white Woodlaw High School. Sadly, Birmingham already had a history of racism and injustice. 
In the 1950s and 1960s, Birmingham's reputation wasn't good. 

In fact, there were so many racially motivated bombings. People started calling it, bombingham. 


So how did it change?
